On the democratization of science and technology
Social relations democratization contributes to improve material and spiritual quality of collective life. In order to promote democracy it is necessary to confront problems that change when social power factors are modified. At the present time, we are beginning to live in scientific-based societies, because through its union with technology, science becomes the main production force - and also destruction at the present time - and due to it science becomes as the power relationships basis.
Domination relationships are more and more related to the knowledge access, and with the control over knowledge generation and usage. Science democratization, to be able to benefit the most people assumes an ethical commitment that must guide multiple tasks, at least in the philosophical, collective and relational, republican and communitarian dimensions. In scientific-based societies, the fight to defend and to extend the democracy, must comprehend key questions, such as access generalization to advanced education and sciences democratization in a wide sense.
